Astrology Baseball preview

It’s that time again … you guessed it .. time to be late on my MLB predictions, but it’s a 162 game season so I think I can be a little late. Were 1/4th of the way through the season so we should start seeing who the contenders are and who the pretenders are.
First, quick recap from last year [see blog below ]I missed on the World Series champion  http://www.markmetheny.blogspot.com/2012/04/sports-astrology-2012-baseball.html
but I did get one of the teams to make it to the World Series correct and I got 3 of the 4 teams correct to make it to the LCS . I would have had all 4 correct had the Reds not completely collapsed against the Giants after winning the first 2 games of the series on the road. Still haven’t figured out what happened there [ Reds fans I’m sure you can relate ]. So had the Big Red machine not become the Big Dead machine I may have had both teams in the World Series correct. Not many people that I know had the Giants winning it all last year. Okay, whining ceased.
Again, I’ve been told I get into to too much technical Astrology stuff so I’m going to keep it to a few things here. The major aspects to look at with teams this year is that Jupiter will enter Cancer in late June and be there through the rest of the season and Saturn and the North Node are in Scorpio and Saturn is still in mutual reception with Pluto in Capricorn. Saturn is planning and hard work and strategy. Pluto is power and obsession. With these 2 in mutual reception those signs and planets will be the winning combinations for this year.
Onto this year’s predictions to see if I can get all of the League Championship Series participants.
AL EAST
1. YANKEES- Played extremely well with a veteran team that’s had a ton of Injuries. They should definitely win the division as they get healthy and should be interesting in the playoffs. Can all these veterans play well the entire season?
2 ORIOLES- Hmmm, this is the toughy. They say the pitching is underrated but the O’s have a really nice chart. Also they have a good amount Scorpio’s which is the key sign I’m watching this year with Saturn and the North Node in that sign. I am intrigued with their chart , they are a definite sleeper and if they can win enough games in the middle of the season to get into the playoffs they will cause people fits.
3 RED SOX- much, much , much improved over last year… the locker room appears to be cancer free! I think they’re not quite as good as they started but they will be in the wildcard hunt u ntil the end.
4 RAYS- Nothing  major happening in their chart so you’ll get the usual. Good pitching , good defense inconsistent hitting , win a lot of games and scare a lot of teams on a small payroll in a city that doesn’t care , brush with the playoffs but not quite make it.
5 BLUE JAYS- Having similar problems to Angels lots of money on the IR not much money on the field. Will play better later but probably too late to save the season.

AL CENTRAL
1 TIGERS- This is their division still and they have the ability to beat anyone when they turn it on. They will be similar to last season although they’re off to a little better start this year. Will be a tough out in playoffs.
2 INDIANS – vastly improved. Starting pitching has been great , free agent pickups Bourner anD Reynolds have been more than could be expected. Francona working his magic and they may just squeeze into playoffs.
3 ROYALS- getting a little better every year. They’re going to compete in the near future.
4 WHITE SOX- No idea really what direction this franchise is going. They will be competitive in stretches but seem directionless.
5 TWINS- Playing fairly well for what they’ve got on their payroll. Respectable.
AL WEST
1 Rangers- Apparently they’re a little smarter than we thought eh ?  Let go of the right guys, got more good young players coming up, not missing a beat. They will be a tough out in the playoffs.
2 A’s- Hitting a bit of an ouchy spot right now but you’ll have that when you keep turning your roster over with young players. Getting their money’s worth at least but may not quite make the playoffs.
3 ANGELS- Aren’t as bad as this but obviously overpaid for Pujols. On an Astrology note The Taurus and Gemini  will be down a bit from last year especially after we get into mid june. John Hamilton is a Taurus. They will regroup a bit in the second half but they’re in trouble this year too much money spend on guys that can’t stay on the field. You can’t buy championshoips!
4 MARINERS- got some nice talent here actually, just missing a few pieces.
5 ASTROS – Bad .
NL EAST
1 NATIONALS- started slow , been inconsistent , Strawsburg off to a bad start record wise but they’re still only a couple games behind Atlanta and Laroche is starting his usual summer warm up. Nartionals barely over the Braves.
2 BRAVES – good young players . Off to a great start but having some injury problems and all those hot young hitters cooled off after the other teams say them a couple times. I’m picking them as a sleeper and will be dangerous if they get in as their transits improve late in the season.
3 METS-  good young pitching but at least a few years away still.
4 PHILLIES- Phillies tail off after late June when Jupiter enters Cancer.
5 MARLINS- Dude, how this is owner still allowed to have a team.
NL CENTRAL
1 CARDINALS- More great young pitchers, great defense, great managing.Matheny [ no relation]  gets the Cards another division title.. and you know what happens when they get in the playoffs.
2 REDS- If they all ever played good at the same time they’d be the greatest team in history. They just hang  around though and one of these years they’re all going to get hot at the end of the year and they’re going to be unstoppable.
3 PIRATES- This is it folks, I predicted they would come close last year but they’re starting pitching is improved and they actually came out ahead in the Hanrahan move. They’re going to win between 88-92 games this year and stop the longest losing season strike in pro sports history.
4 BREWERS-  Wow, lots and lots of great young hitters. If they get some consistent starting pitching in the next couple years they will be scary.
5 CUBS- better than people thought. They actually may have hit bottom and are starting to turn. A couple more bad contracts to get rid of and they can actually improve through free agency.

NL WEST
1 GIANTS- defending champs, getting very little out of their starting rotation but still hanging around first . Will win division and you better be ready to play if you meet them in the playoffs because they won’t go out easy once that Lincecum and Cain get going.
2 ROCKIES- Hmmm, intriguing. Decimated by Injuries last year. Hitting much improved this year, should be slightly better than Arizona but that will be the race for second place.
3 DIAMONDBACKS- of all the teams in the  4 major sports this is the one team chart that I can’t quite figure out how it works. They have great young pitching , hits the lights out sometimes, just can’t quite figure them out. I ‘ll say they win 87-89 games and just miss the playoffs.
4 DODGERS- Similar ordeal to the Jays and Angels. They’ve spent the money but you can’t bring a bunch of free agents together talent wise or mentally when you can’t get them all on the field. They won’t recover this season. The Red Sox are looking awfully smart right now.
5 PADRES-  some good young players but inconsistent and a lot of holes to fill.

Lather, Heat, Repeat Astrology and NBA playoffs

I meant to have this up earlier but most years there is very little suspense in the NBA playoffs until you get to the conference finals anyway.
I realize last seasons NBA Playoffs were a bit anti climactic with the Heat having an easier than expected time with the Thunder in the finals. I am not, however, going to let that stop me from doing a little boasting on my playoff predictions from last year. [see below ] http://www.markmetheny.blogspot.com/2012/04/astrology-and-nba-playoffs.html
Given it was no big feat to pick the Heat to win it all [ however they did get blindsided the year before by the Mavericks ] but I did pick 13 of the 15 series in the playoffs correctly and had all 4  of the conference finalists picked right. I missed only the 4.5 series in the West in the first round and I missed the 76’ers upsetting the no.2 seed Bulls in the first round. I had the Bulls getting upset in the second round. Not to mention I also [with the help of 2 eclipses ] picked Kevin Garnett  [ boosting his ppg to over 20 and helping the Celtics come back to win a game 7 vs. the 76ers and to actually take a 3-2 lead over the Heat after trailing 2 games to none ]and Tony Parker  [ boosting his ppg to over 20 in the and hitting 33 % of his 3 attempts] to explode in the playoffs . Of course both teams fall down go boom after the eclipse but hey, nothing’s permanent.
I ‘ve been told I put too much technical Astrology stuff into these blogs and that nobody really wants to know the mechanics they just want to see the predictions. I will attempt to keep the technical stuff to a minimum.
One of the ruling planets of basketball is Neptune. Basketball is a very unstructured nebulous game. There are few called plays and there is lots of innovation and things tend to be fluid and can change in an instant which makes it interesting. However, Neptune also rules illness and injuries. If anything has dominated this playoffs it’s injuries.
The Pacers [ Grainger ], Celtics [ Rondo, Sullinger ], Thunder [ Westbrook] , Bulls [ Rose, Deng, Hinrich],Knicks [ Stoudamire ], Nuggets [ Galinari ] all have lost all star level players to injuries that limited them or kept them out of the playoffs completely. On top of that the Warriors Curry played through injury the last part of their series against the Spurs .This is the big reason that there were actually 2 upsets [ Bulls, Warriors, Grizzlies ] in the first round of the playoffs and 2 more in the second round [ Grizzlies, Pacers]. These players all had Neptune making a difficult aspect in their chart.
Here’s where we stand so far and my predictions for the conference finals and NBA finals.
EAST CONFERENCE FINALS
[1] HEAT over [3] PACERS- The Pacers have played valiantly in the playoffs . Having gotten to the conference finals with their best player Danny  Granger having not played this entire season due to Injury. The Pacers will give the Heat a battle and almost every game should go down to the wire but the Heat should win in 6.
WEST CONFERENCE FINALS
[2] SPURS over [5] GRIZZLIES –  The Grizzlies knocked off 2 of the 3 division champions in the West already  [ Clippers and Thunder ] and are going for the third in the Spurs. The Spurs are wiley veterans though and won’t shake easily. The Grizzlies are playing great and should win at least 2 but the Spurs will win this series in 6 also.
NBA FINALS
HEAT over SPURS – The Spurs are looking more youthful but the Heat have transiting Saturn [ work, planning, attention to detail , focus ] sitting almost to the degree on their North Node [ future, destiny , fate] . Too much for the Spurs to overcome but it will be close. Heat won both regular season matchups by a total of 7 points.  Heat in 6.

Astrology and Stanley cup playoffs

Welcome back, it’s been a year since last year’s shocking Stanley Cup results when for the first time ever a no. 8 seed hoists the cup. What did we learn from last years experience ? Well we learned that Pluto doesn’t always have to be a downer… that intensity can take a player that was up and down all year and focus them to an All –star level. Not to mention that if you are an underdog team you want that Uranus in Aries energy [see the Kings again ]. Also we learned that more so than in any other sport the Goalie is the most important position in any sport. More than a Quarterback or a pitcher, a hot Goalie can wipe out any mistake his team makes.
I may have picked the rest of the playoffs wrong last year [as did the entire Earth ] but I did pick the Kings in the Finals [ see last years blog below ].
Okay onto this years Stanley Cup playoffs where I try to redeem myself for last year’s poor performance. Let’s look at the matchups and who the hot Goalie’s may be this year.
Didn’t quite get this done before the second round started but remember…..this is for educational purposes not gambling [ kinda ].
A few interesting notes so far. 4 of the first 8 playoff series were upsets with the 6 and 7 seeds upsetting the 2 and 3 seeds in both conferences.

EASTERN QUARTERS
EASTERN SEMIS
[1] PENGUINS over [7] SENATORS – Penguins have lots of firepower and been getting great goaltending … but not from their starter Fleury [ Sag. ] but from his backup Vokoun [ Cancer] . Ottawa’s Anderson [ Gemini ] is in a little over his head.
[4] BRUINS over [6] RANGERS – battle of Pisces goaltenders goes to the Bruins as Rangers still have trouble scoring.

 EASTERN FINALS

[1] PENGUINS ] over [4] Bruins- matchup of water sign goalie’s again. In another interesting matchup Boston’s Rusk [ Pisces] has defeated 2 other Piscean goalie’s in the first 2 rounds. This time he takes on another water sign in Pitt’s Vokoun [ Cancer ] . Both goalie’s charts look great right now , both team charts look great right now. When all looks even chart wise … go with the most talent . Penguins in 7.

 WESTERN SEMIS
[1] BLACKHAWKS over [7] RED WINGS – An always bitter division rivalry [ there’s my obligatory cliché ] this should play out interestingly. Detroit’s Howard [ Aries ] Sun is square to Chicago’s Crawford [ Capricorn ] . Interestingly enough transiting Uranus is Aries and transiting Pluto is in Capricorn conjunct the  Sun’s of the respective goaltenders and not only that but there is an Exact Uranus Pluto square the day I am writing this. While the Redwings played great the last part of the regular season to squeeze into the playoffs by 1 point , we all know that the outer planet trumps the inner one. Blackhawks in a hard fought [ cliché no. 2 ] series that will go 6 or 7 games.
[4] KINGS over [6] SHARKS – I know the Kings won the first 2 games of this series but I like the Sharks to keep this very interesting and take it to 7 games before bowing out to the defending champions.

WESTERN FINALS
[1] BLACKHAWKS  over [4] KINGS- defending champs play good but the BLACKHAWKS say “ king me “ . Crawford has Pluto conjunct his Sun with the Saturn in Scorpio mutual reception still happening. That’s double the focus. BLACKHAWKS.
STANLEY CUP FINALS-
Rematch of a couple seasons ago. Early in the season the Blackhawks clearly looked like the best team in the league but the Penguins made some trades and got a little healthy late in the season.
Penguins in a good series .

Astrology and American Idol

We all have  guilty pleasures …sometimes it’s the song that sticks in your head , sometimes it’s the TV show that maybe we don’t want to admit we watch , sometimes it’s secretly stalking a  celebrity [ in this case it may be all 3…lol  ].
So every year there are many new tv shows and many new vocal artists and many cd’s released. Why do some stick and end up being more than a short lived fad or one hit wonder while other shows stay on tv for years. Let’s look to Jupiter first.
Jupiter is the planet that has to do with pop culture and current trends. Jupiter is a social planet and likes to talk and hypothesize and philosophize .Jupiter also is one of the rulers of sport [ competition ] and gambling and long distance travel [ tv can be long distance travel when you think about it , I mean I live in Ohio when else am I going to see a shark attack but on Discovery channel’s Shark week ].
So my point being … is there a reason that American Idol has been such a cultural icon for the last decade or so while so many other shows have faded. Let’s take a lookey look and see what our planetary friends tell us.
So we start with the chart for the first episode of American idol as the birth time as this is when it was launched into the consciousness of the public. The first episode aired on June 11th, 2002. Several interesting things in this chart, Pluto [ obsession , power ] and the South Node [ familiarity ]of the Moon are on the ascendant … very good for attracting and KEEPING viewers. Mercury [ communication ] is in the 6th house [ daily activities ] and then in the 7th house  [ relationships , other people ] there is a stellium [ groupings of 3 planets or more that are all within 10 degrees of each other ] and 3 conjunctions [ 2 planets within 10 degrees of each other ] the last of which spills over into the 8th house.
The first aspect is a stellium  in the sign of Gemini [ communication ] and it has the Sun [ creativity , performance ], Saturn [ work , career, public standing ]  and the North Node [ future , destiny ] all tightly conjunct within 3 degrees of each other.
The second set of planets in the 7th house is in the sign of Cancer  where we have conjunctions between the Moon [ emotions ] and Mars [ energy ] , Mars [ energy ] and Jupiter [ humor , wide ranging appeal ] and then between Jupiter  and Venus  [ love, relationships ] which is in the 8th house [ obsessions ]. So all these things added up give American idol a fantastic chart for a venture that needs a long lasting presence [ Pluto ] and wide ranging appeal  [ Jupiter ] and a bit of an addictive quality to it [ Pluto conjunct South Node on the Ascendant ] … and it’s a competition [ Jupiter, Mars ] and has lots of pretty people [ Venus ] and humorous [ Jupiter ]and touching [ Venus ]moments … it has a little bit of everything.
So we’ve established they have a great birth chart for the show. Why the strong  connection to the American Public… look below at the chart for the U.S..  All those planets in Cancer in the American Idol show chart just happen to be conjunct [ within 10 degrees ] of several of the planets in the U.S. chart that also has 4 planets in the sign of Cancer. Now a quick synopsis of the sign of Cancer.. Cancer is the most feminine of the signs, the most nurturing , probably the most emotional. Where there is Cancer is where we feel clingy and where we feel sentimental and nostalgic.
When a planet comes back to the same place in the chart as it was when the person , corporation, team , tv show  or whatever was created this is called having a “ return” this happens every so often depending on how long the specific planet takes to go around the entire Zodiac circle . The further out the planet the longer this takes. The Moon takes 30 days ,Mercury and Venus take about 9 months , Mars takes 2 years , Jupiter 12 years out through Saturn 28-30 years Uranus 82-84 years Neptune 128-132 years and Pluto around 180 years. So my point is to have 1 planet making a “ return “ is not that unusual , it happens pretty frequently, to have 2 planets having a return is much  more rare because their rotation cycles are so different time wise.

Now Jupiter is in the sign of Cancer in the U.S. chart just like it is in the A.I. chart. This happens once every 12 years . Now Venus is in Cancer in both charts as well, that happens every 9 months . But having both back in the same sign as they were in the original U.S. chart Is an unusual happening due to their varying transit lengths. Not to mention that both charts also have multiple sets of 2 planet conjunctions in Cancer as well as both charts each having 4 planets / luminaries in Cancer.
The contestants are mostly new every year on A.I. but the judges do not always change. Some judges have been there several years, usually there’s a couple changes every few years and even the show creator Simon Cowell left a couple a couple years ago . This is the 12th season for American idol and there have been 10 different judges on the show.
There is 1 judge however that has been on every season since the show started and it’s legendary Musician and producer Randy Jackson . Guess what sign Mr. Jackson is ? If you guessed Cancer you are correct.  Randy jackson’s Sun is at 2 degrees Cancer , it sits within 1 degree of the Moon in the A.I. birthchart and it sits within 1 degree of the Venus in the U.S. birth chart .

I will give you the entire explanation of how and why Astrology works in 1 paragraph. Everything is an energy or a frequency . There are 12 signs of the zodiac , each sign has 30 degrees ..that makes 360 degrees or frequencies. There are symbols and archetypes for these 360 different “ frequencies” . Mutual or the same frequencies will attract each other ….you will be annoyed by frequencies that are disharmonious to the frequencies in your chart. This works in politics, it works in relationships , it works in sporting events…. This is why Astrology works. Within the  context of the frequencies realize that we are all souls that have been around for awhile and we all have our own different Karmic agenda’s that we are working on or things that we need to heal and we attract the people , place  or things with the right frequencies that can help us leran lessons, improve our lives , heal , old wounds and understand more of the reality of our existence. There you go … the point of Astrology in a paragraph.
Anyhow, … ummm .. American Idol …so there have been 10 different judges on A.I. throughout it’s history. I’m going to give you a quick breakdown here of the elements…Fire signs are very passionate and have big personalities, Air signs are very talkative and communicative. Water signs are emotional and Earth signs are very practical and down to Earth. So if we look at the judges by the elements their Sun signs are …
 FIRE-5
AIR-3
WATER-2
EARTH-0
So  there you go ….mostly Extroverts with bug personalities. They all seem like nice people but sorry no Capricorns, Taurus’ or Virgo’s at the judges table… far too serious for tv [ viewer discretions is advised ].
Now as far as the contest winners goes the Earth signs have ruled . The practical Earth signs appear to be the ones to be able to take the criticism and improve their performances by the end of the season .Out of the 11  season winners so far the breakdown is the following:
EARTH-4
AIR-3
FIRE-2
WATER-2
Okay so looking over the charts of the previous 11 winners they all had a significant transit from Jupiter happening in their chart . Either Jupiter making a trine [ very favorable aspect ] or conjunction Jupiter or another planet in their chart. Using this knowledge I’m going to make my predictions with 6 people left in the competition. Out of curiosity of the 6 remaining contestants there are 2 Sag's [ although one is very , very close to the cusp of Scorpio, and 1 each of Capricorn, Taurus , Aquarius and Pisces. S that's 2 Earth signs , 2 fire and 1 each of  Air and Water.
In order with 1 being my most likely to win here is my strength of chart rating.
1. Janelle Arthur
2. Candice Glover
3. Angie Miller
4. Kree Harrison
5. Amber Holcomb
6. Lazaro Arbos
I will add that there appears to be a pretty big gap in chart strength between the no. 2 and 3contestants. The top 2 both have some similar transits going on . But good luck to them all and we shall see who Jupiter is kindest to.

This NCAA tourney is for the birds ... no, really!

As  many had suspected we are a few hours from watching Louisville take the court in search of their third National championship . The Cardinals came into the tournament as the overall no. 1 seed so it’s no shock to see they’ve made it this far however, the journey has not gone exactly as expected.  Louisville is the only no. 1 seed to win their region and none of the no. 2’s or 3’s made it this far and there was a no. 9 that actually made it to the final  4.

That being said we’re going to look at a few of the Astrological tidbits that you may have missed in all of the excitement or had  no idea about.

Although Astrology can be very complex when trying to figure out the winner of sporting events or elections sometimes things play out very literal. As some of you already know all sports teams have mascots and many of them are animals , also every Sign has rulerships  [ things that fall under their domain] and many times you will see the things that fall under that domain being shown favor … especially when you talk about Jupiter in that sign. Example : In 2011 when the Ncaa tournament was happening we had the planet Uranus  [ upsets, surprises, shocking events ] early in the sign of Aries and we also had Jupiter [luck , expansion , pop culture trends ] also in the sign of Aries . Now as many of you know the Aries animal totem is the Ram. That year there were 2 teams that were either nicknamed the Rams or had a Ram as a mascot . You had  North Carolina [ the Tar Heels , whose mascot is a Ram ] who were a no. 2 seed and thusly should have made it to the elite 8 [ which they did ] .

The other team was the relatively unknown Virginia Commonwealth University  [ VCU- the Rams ] who had never done much in the tournament and came in as a no. 11 seed which means they should have made a very early exit.  On top of being seeded low they also had to play a “play in” game just to solidify their spot in the field of 68 .  So of course they win their play in game and then proceed to upset the no.‘s 6,3,10, and 1 seeds in succession before losing to repeat Final Four team Butler in the National semi’s.  So VCU became the 3rd no. 11 seed to make the Final Four since they began seeding the field in 1979 , winning 5 of 6 games and nearly making it to the championship game while North Carolina did not exceed expectations they did go 3-1 and make it to the elite 8. Those were the only 2 teams in the tournament that year with Ram mascots and they went a combined 8-1 and both made it to the final 8 teams. Pretty above average showing for Rams that year.

Fast forward to 2013 . Jupiter is currently in Gemini . Gemini rules Butterflies [ not many sports teams with a ferocious nickname like the butterflies ] and Birds ……Hmmm .. birds. So let’s see …we have no less than 8 teams in this years tournament named after birds. Let’s tally how they did.

First … a quick word on seeding. The skinny is that there are 16 teams [ seeded 1-16 ] in each region plus 4 teams that have to win a play in game . So if the favored team or the team most expected to win were to win every game you would have no.’s 1-8 winning in the first round ..the no. 1-4 seeds winning in the second round no.’s 1-2 winning in the third round.

Okay with my mathematical doufiness out of the way we had the following 8 bird teams make the tournament:

Louisville [ a no. 1 seed ], Creighton [ no.7] , Marquette [no. 3 ], Oregon [ no. 12] , Kansas [no.1 ] , Temple [ no. 9] , Long Island u.@ Brooklyn [ no. 16] and Florida Gulf Coast [no.15]  . Long Island Brooklyn was a no. 16 seed and never has a number 16 seed won a game in the Ncaa  Tournament outside of the play in round. Regardless there were 8 bird teams seeded 9 or higher and 8 bird teams seeded 8 or lower . All things being normal they should have went 4-4 in their first games. Instead they won 7 and lost only 1.

In the next round [ seeds 1-4 favored to win ] they should have won 3 and lost 4 ..instead they win 5 and lose 2 . Going into tonight’s championship game the game birds have gone 16-7 in this years tournament. We have one team in the National championship game , 2 made the elite 8 . With only 8 of the 68 team field being named after birds we ended up with 5 of the last 12 teams being  Bird mascots included Florida Gulf Coast who became only the 7th No. 15 seed to win a game vs. a no. 2 seed and the first no. 15 seed EVER to win in the following round. And no one had ever heard of them because they are only in their 3rd year of Playing Division 1 basketball.

Also, 6 upsets were pulled in the tournament by Birdbearing [ is that even a word ?.... well it is now] teams , 1 of the teams [ Oregon ]got beat by another bird team [ Louisville ] and Marquette [ not originally a bird team but they changed their mascot a few years in back …. Obviously in anticipation of Jupiter being in Gemini this year ..wink wink ] .

Anyway I picked Louisville in most of my brackets  from the beginning of the tournament although I did not see Michigan getting this far. However I must say that Michigans’ transits for their team chart , their coaches chart and the chart of their top players is actually slightly better than Louisville’s this will be very close . Don’t be surprised if there’s an upset. The Cardinals are favoured by 4 , take the Wolverins and the points.

ASTROLOGY RAVENS-49ERS SUPER BOWL PREDICTIONS

What valuable Astrology lessons have we learned from the  NFL playoffs  so far ? I’d say several …let’s look at some of them.
1.  Having Uranus conjunct  your Sun is good if you’re an underdog or recovering from an Injury …but in the long run Uranus conjunct your Sun is a shaky , erratic influence that will cause you some upset  even if the transit has been good for you in general. [ e.g. Adrian Peterson and Peyton Manning ]
2. The Moon in Aquarius may not always cause an upset  [ although it did for the Bronocs ] but it does create lots of excitement and Defensive and Special teams scoring  [ e.g.  Saturday’s  games … 2 defensive td’s 2 special teams td’s , erratic play by Broncos]
3. As we saw in the BCS National Championship game the underdogs fare poorly in games played during a void of course moon [ see Sunday’s games ] . The underdog needs the emotional edge to outplay a team that is favored to beat them and when the Moon does not provide any help by being void the favourite’s  prevail. To rephrase …there has to be emotional upset for there to be an upset.
4. The transiting Moon squaring or opposite your Sun IS a favorable aspect for a Quarterback [ e.g. Kaepernick , Ryan, Brady]  .
5. A favorable aspect between the transiting Moon and your Sun IS NOT helpful [ e.g. Rodgers, Wilson, Manning ] .
Here’s some non astrology interesting facts :
1. Scoring 1st doesn’t mean squat [ 3 of the 4 teams that scored first lost the game in week 2 of the playoffs ].
Here’s a trivia question for you …only 1 player in the NFL that played the whole regular season didn’t lose a game this year …who was it ?
I’ll give you a minute to think .
2.  Experience isn’t what it used to be.  In the 4 games  in the divisional round the younger QB’S won their games and Russell Wilson for Seattle gave his team every chance to win with 3 second half td’s. The only veteran QB  who  clearly outplayed his younger rival Tom Brady. Wilson, Kaepernick and Flacco all were great in the second half’s of their games  [ 2 of them playing on the road] as they all lead their teams to 3 or more second half td’s  and they all scored or threw for game tying or lead changing td’s. When the pressure was on these 3 youngsters were not afraid to make the big play. In the conference championship games we also saw the younger qb win both games.

Trivia answer:
It was Tristan Holliday of the Broncos .Saturday was his first loss of the season [ although he played better than anyone else on his team with 2 returns for TD’S ]. He started the season with Houston who started 5-0 then was picked up on waivers by the Broncos who won their last 11 games after he joined the team.
Super Bowl :
Okay now on to the big game . I’m going to ramble off some of the major aspects in the teams , players and coaches charts and we’ll see what we can make of them.
The main thing when you look at who is  going to win a championship is a combination of things. Contacts to Saturn or the Nodes [ a sense of destiny ]. A positive Mars transit [ good energy ] . And on the shorter term the Moon [ emotions ] and Mercury [ mental processes/ strategy ]. Also some help from Jupiter [ luck ] is not bad either.
Looking at the coaches of Harbaughville  Jim of the 49ers has lots of powerful transits happening now. Pluto [ power/ Intensity ] Is conjunct his South Node [ past Karma ] and Pluto is also conjunct his Mars giving lots of drive and focused energy . Also transiting Uranus is square to his Nodes [ destiny/ karma ] . Pluto is also trine to his natal Pluto and his natal Uranus. He meets all the needed criteris here.
His brother John coaches the Ravens he has transiting Neptune [ which rules underdogs as well as confusion ] conjunct his Jupiter [ luck ]. Saturn is square to his Nodes, Jupiter is trine his Saturn and the North Node is conjunct his Venus . Nice transits but not as powerful as Jim’s .
Advantage Jim and the 49ers .
One of the main things that’s happening this year Astrologically is that the planets Saturn [ which rules the sign of Capricorn ] and Pluto [ which rules the sign of ] are in mutual reception. This is njust a fancy way of saying that they are in the sign that the other one rules..Pluto is in Capricorn now and Saturn is in Scorpio. Essentially what this does is add extra focus and concentration as the energy of these 2 planets are communicating better than normal.
Interestingly enough the 2 starting qb’s in this game are a Capricorn and a Scorpio.

Looking at the charts for the qbs both qbs are young but are growing up quickly due to some outer planet transits. Joe Flacco for the Ravens has been around for a few years and he already is the first qb  in NFL history to win a playoff game in each of his first 5 seasons in the league. He also avenged their season ending defeat to the Patriots last season in the AFC Championship game.
Flacco is a Capricorn and transiting Pluto is currently conjunct his Natal Neptune and his natal Mercury [ strategy / focus] this has helped him get to the next stage of his development. Also the transiting North Node is conjunct his Saturn [ discipline as well as preparation ].
Colin Kaepernick is the starting qb for the 49ers and has only been the starter since the midway point of the season when the starter Alex Smith went down with an injury after having a great season last year. Interestingly Smith had by far his best season as a pro last year when Jupiter was in his sign of Taurus. Now that the Scorpio energy is the most powerful energy out there Kaepernick found himself as the starter and has been nothing short of awesome the last several weeks.
Kaepernick ha transiting Saturn sitting directly on his Sun / Pluto conjunction in his natal chart , literally rising to power out of nowhere.
However Flacco’s  Pluto transit to his Mercury gives him a very slight advantage.
QB advantage : Flacco Ravens
Looking at the team charts :
The Ravens team chart has transiting Pluto sitting directly on their Jupiter as well as transiting Uranus sitting on their Saturn/ South Node conjunction.
The 49ers have transiting Jupiter very loosely conjunct  their North Node [ destiny ].They also have transiting Uranus opposite their Neptune and transiting Pluto square to their Neptune. Neptune often has to do with trick plays or deception but it also shows up often as turnovers. This isn’t a good sign for the 49ers.
Looking at the game chart the Moon is between 22-24 degrees of Scorpio throughout the game. This lends to hard hitting and intensity. The transiting Moon will be exactly conjunct Flacco’s South Node late in this game. That should be interesting to watch.Look for  a play from Flacco to decide the game late.
Another thing of note is that none of these teams have lost a Super Bowl. The Ravens have won their only appearance and the 49ers are 5-0 all time and look to tie the Steelers for the most win’s ever in the championship game.
The chart for the game shows Jupiter near the Midheaven as the game starts so there may be some early scoring but Saturn [ which rules scoring ] is in the bottom half of the chart the whole game while Uranus [ defense] is in the top half of the chart the whole game. I would venture to say this will be lowish scoring.
Conclusions : Jim will have the 49ers prepared but I would look for the Ravens to pull out a close win late. It will be up to Flacco though . Look for a big play from him [ either or good or bad [ to decide it late.Ravens 24-21.

ASTROLOGY: BCS National Championship game

Here we are again. Alabama and Nick Saban on the brink of another National Championship but they have to get past the surprisingly undefeated Notre Dame team of Brian Kelly. College Football is a hard one to call because there are so many teams but now that were down to the final 2 I’m going to put my insights out there.
On top of looking at the teams charts I also look at the charts for the respective coaches and the charts of the specific game in question. I will also sometimes look at the chart of some key players if there are standouts on either team. This is what has been difficult about reading the last couple of BCS National Championship games.
Last year it was Alabama vs. LSU . 2 very evenly matched teams that played a 3 point overtime game in the regular season only to have a rematch in the BCS Title game. When 2 teams are so evenly matched you get down to splitting hairs on things and there are many aspects to look at in a game. So the big problem last year was not only evenly matched teams but both coaches were Scorpio’s [ Nick Saban and Les Myles ] and on top of that when looking at the chart for last years championship game the moon went void of course fairly early in the game . Last years game ended with Alabama winning 21-0 and there only being 1 TD scored in the entire game.
When the Moon is void of course it means the Moon has made it’s major last aspect to another planet before switching signs. This typically plays out as people being a little emotionally flat and not much productive coming from the times when the Moon is void of course. This made last years game very hard to read. Surely this years game will be easier to read since we have at least 1 different team and 1 different coach.
Last year’s Title game had the Moon in Cancer and it went void of course before halftime ….somehow this year we also have the Moon in a water sign [ Scorpio ] and it is void of course nearly the entire day. To top this off Brian Kelly [ N.D.’s coach ] is also a Scorpio just like Nick Saban of Alabama so we still have a lot of similarities to last years game even though 1 of the teams is different.
A little note on coaches before we go any further…I looked at the last 20 national champions coaches and found an interesting correlation. There are a handful of coaches that have won more than 1 championship in that period but by just looking at the Sun sign of the winning teams coach there is a severe predominance to water signs. Of the last 20 National Champions 13 have been coached by Water Signs . 19 of the 20 have been Earth or Water signs. The 3 water signs and Virgo [ that’s only 4 of the 12  zodiac signs ] have won 18 of the last 20 championships. Ohio State’s Jim Tressell [ Sag ] and Auburn’s Gene Chisek [ Capricorn ] are the only 2 exceptions. There are 7 BCS title’s won by Scorpio coaches [ including this years], 5 by Virgo’s 3 by Cancer’s and 3 by Pisces.
Okay back to this year’s game. Being we have 2 great defense’s a void of course Moon I would expect this to be very low scoring game.
For the strictly Astrology people out there who want a reason to watch the game here’s the major transits for this game.
Alabama: team chart has transiting Jupiter trine Bama’s natal Jupiter and the transiting North Node is conjunct their Mars .
Nick Saban: Transiting Uranus conjunct Jupiter, tr. Neptune conjunct North Node, tr. Saturn conjunct Sun, tr. North Node conjunct Moon, tr. North Node conjunct Mercury, Moon conjunct Moon [ or Lunar return if you prefer].
Notre Dame: Team chart has Saturn conjunct Jupiter, Uranus trine Uranus.
Brian Kelly: transiting Saturn conjunct Neptune, tr. North Node and Saturn conjunct Mars, and he also has the transiting Nodes square the Nodes in his Natal chart.
My predictions for this game are Alabama to win a low scoring game [ thanks void of course Moon] , I don’t think they’ll win by the 9.5 they’re favored by though so I’d take Notre Dame and the points if you’re going that way. I would also bet the under, I don’t see there being 44 points scored in this game.
I’ll be back in a few weeks with an expanded Super Bowl preview. You can see my NFL playoff predictions in the previous blog.
